Guides to support children

Our downloads are short, practical guides for parents and caregivers. They are written in simple language, prepared together with child-development specialists and designed to be used when they are needed most. They are all free and can be printed or shared. You can read them on your phone or download them to keep them close at hand.

How to use them

Read the guide yourself first, calmly, so you feel confident before talking with your child. Then choose one or two tips to start with: you do not need to apply everything at once. Keep it handy or print it so you can come back to it whenever you need it.

What you will find

  • Concrete phrases for talking with children about what they feel.
  • Simple activities to calm down, like breathing together or drawing the fear.
  • Signs that it is time to ask for professional help.
  • Tips to take care of yourself too, because children learn from our example.

Share it

If a guide helped you, share it with other families, teachers or caregivers who might need it. And if you join the Mora community, we will let you know when we publish new downloads.

When to use it

The guide is designed for the days and weeks after a situation that frightened children, like an earthquake, a strong storm, a flood or another emergency. It also helps when you notice your child is quieter than usual, does not want to sleep alone, asks the same thing over and over or goes back to behaviors from when they were younger.

Made with specialists

The guide was prepared in collaboration with Trinabel Marsuian Pru, a child psychologist who graduated from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello. It gathers practical recommendations based on her experience supporting children and families, explained in simple words so any adult can use them at home.
